Dr. Jeanny Liu-Wu
About
Dr. Wu received her BA from Wellesley College in Boston and Doctor of Optometry from the University of Houston. She has been serving her patients at Pearle Vision in the Maplewood Mall since 1990. Dr. Wu is known to be attentive with her patients, providing expert guidance based on their individual eye care needs. She is thorough with her examination, believing the exam is complete only when your vision needs are met. In her spare time, in addition to being a skillful shopper, Dr. Wu enjoys traveling with her husband and two boys, who bring her a great deal of joy. Most of the time.
Dr. Derek Derek Wu
About
Dr. Derek Wu is from Minnesota, born and raised. He earned his B.S. in Biology from Baylor University and obtained their Doctorate of Optometry degree from New England College of Optometry.
During his clinical externships, Dr. Derek gained experience at Open Cities Community Health Center in downtown St. Paul, providing care to the local community. He also trained at a specialty contact lens clinic in St. Louis, where he grew an interest in Myopia control contact lenses. Dr. Derek is MiSight certified, the first FDA approved soft contact lens proven to slow progression of myopia in children.
In his spare time, Dr. Derek enjoys cheering for Minnesota sport teams, playing basketball, and spending time with his family and girlfriend. Dr. Derek also enjoys exploring different cultures and countries, specifically the local cuisine.
Dr. Nathan Haverkamp
About
Dr. Nathan Haverkamp grew up in Detroit Lakes, MN. He graduated from the University of
Minnesota, Morris with a degree in Biology, and recieved his Degree of Optometry in 2018 from
the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. Since joining Pearle Vision Maplewood in
2018 he has lived in North St. Paul.
In his free time he enjoys playing tennis and golf in the summer, and skiing in the winter. You
will also find him cheering on the professional sports teams of Minnesota year round ( don't
worry, he has a happy disposition still in spite of this ).
Dr. Haverkamp enjoys helping his patients see their best with glasses and contacts and feels
lucky to work in a clinic where he can provide full-scope optometric care for his community.
Dr. Sarah Watson
About
Dr. Sarah Watson grew up near Toronto, Canada. She graduated with Honors from the University of Waterloo with a degree in Biomedical Life Science and obtained their Doctorate of Optometry degree from New England College of Optometry. While at NECO, Dr. Watson was recognized with the Optelec Excellence in Low Vision Award for her dedication to enhancing the quality of life for visually impaired individuals.
Beyond the clinic, Dr. Watson enjoys hiking, trying new baking recipes, and volunteering to assist legally blind individuals with activities of daily living.
During her clinical externships, Dr. Watson trained at Perkins School for the Blind working with individuals with disabilities. She has a special interest in pediatrics, low vision, and contact lenses. Dr. Watson is dedicated to providing comprehensive eye care tailored to the needs of each patient.
